In 2007 CALDESIGN was engaged by the owners of a property on Sydney’s upper north shore to develop a scheme that would unify two separate but adjoining blocks of land. Both blocks contained numerous large trees including several heritage-listed Oaks and protecting these was a priority in the design. The owners wanted a garden for the long-term - one that could be enjoyed all year round and be great for entertaining. They also wanted a garden that evoked a sense of relaxed formality in keeping with the locality.
CALDESIGN won the Award of Excellence for this project at the AILA NSW Landscape Architecture Awards and the AILA National Landscape Architecture Award during the institutes 50 year anniversary in 2016.
