The west side of this stunning period residence, located on the upper north shore, was extended out to create room for a brand new kitchen and laundry. Our senior interior designer was asked to create a space suited for a growing family and for entertaining.
What we did- We designed a new bespoke kitchen and laundry. We retained and restored all period features.
Notes – Our clients were after a traditional kitchen with shaker style cabinets, a central island bench and a table big enough to seat 8. A new concept started to take shape on paper and slowly developed into the brand new kitchen layout. New bi-fold doors and windows were included in the new design – in order to bring more natural light into the space. The new kitchen colour scheme was kept neutral in order to let the original period features shine. A beautiful Australian marble was selected by our clients for the benchtop and splash back. The overall process was a successful collaboration between client and designer.
Our comment – The end result is very pleasing both aesthetically and functionally.
Our clients’ comment – “The kitchen looks good, works well and it is great for entertaining”
